Unfolding Her Wings | Springtime Natural Light Boudoir

It’s hard to believe this boudoir session took place three Springs ago, in March 2022. I still remember the moment I delivered these photographs—my client was in awe. She told me, “Thank you for showing me a side of myself that I’d like to think was always there—it just emerged like a beautiful butterfly in this session. You are a true artist.”

At first, she wasn’t sure how revealing she wanted the pictures to be. She wasn’t sure how she would feel, or if she’d be able to fully step into her element. But as she moved through my process, both before the session and during it, she began to find her way, allowing herself to be seen and authentically expressed. That evolution is beautifully reflected in these photographs, and by the end of the session, it quite literally felt like she had opened her wings.

After receiving the images, she hesitated to share them. But months later, she messaged me, “You can share them all! They are just so tasteful.”

She also recently told me, “I never thought I would do this, but I’m so happy that I did. It was a moment of truly recognizing myself and my body, after not paying much mind to either for so long. After having two boys back to back, it felt like a way of closing circles and celebrating new beginnings.”

Witnessing that transformation, both in front of the camera and within herself, is exactly why I do this work.

On a Spring morning, we began this gentle, sweet, and breathtaking session at my natural light studio in the Judean Hills. The soft light and serene atmosphere set the perfect tone for what would unfold—a journey of self-expression and discovery…

The experience felt magical, and I am so in love with every photograph that we created together…

Now, years after her experience, she says these images continue to give her so much. Just a couple of months ago, while looking through her keepsake album, she said, “Who is this woman?! It really gave me the confidence boost I needed.”

She reflected, “It will be interesting to see how I evolve and how I look at them differently over time, even though the images will stay the same.”

This has to be my favorite part of her session…
